GERMAN HORIZONS / ORIZONTURI GERMANE: RAYMOND WALDEN

WELTEN
Intensiver Duft erlesenster Darbietungen
des Universums von Farbe und Licht,
von Landschaft, Küste und Meer,
von Früchten und Leben. – Beflügeltem Leben,
das den Einheimischen nichts schenkt,
das aber Entspannung und Würde schöpft,
einlädt zur Muße und Kreativität,
in einsam geschützten Buchten,

WORLDS
Breath taking this blue
that opens eyes, bedews lips,
touches softly your skin.
This blue that you may listen to when the night
unleashes the stars.
This beguiling blue
wakens all sences
as it glorifies the sea in turquoise so honestly,
gathering the crowds,
so colourful and in good mood.
Intensive scent of exquisite presentations by the universe
of colour and light,
of landscape, coast and sea
of fruit and life. – Winged living
that doesn’t donate much to the natives,
that but draws relaxation and dignity,
that invites to leisure and creativity
in lonely protected bays
and on cliffs and high rocks,
chilled by the Mistral,
suggesting self-finding, humility as well.

And then, oh St. Tropez, there is plenty of decadence
at your quays, moles and beaches
where the flair of the Cote d’Azur – disreputable because of money –
doesn’t stink.

LUMI

A PHILOSOPHER POET AND A POET PHILOSOPHER
UN POET FILOSOF ŞI UN FILOSOF POET
Raymond Walden is a contemporary German writer and philosopher. In 2005 he published the books Sentenzen von Freiheit - Kosmonomisches Manifest / Sentences of  freedom - The Cosmonomic Manifesto and in 2008 Menschliches Glauben / Human Believing. For Raymond Walden we are not living in „the best possible world“. His analytical and critical spirit is not comfortable for some postmodernist or decadent mentality, but it is a necessary approach on behalf of human reason.
Since 2009, Raymond Walden is a constant contributor to CHMagazine.

YOUNG AFRICA / AFRICA TÂNĂRĂ: CATHERINE MIMANO (KENYA)

KISS TODAY GOODBYE

Kiss today goodbye
Heaven saw you cry
Earth wondered why
And the wind could only sigh
The moon is shining bright
The stars glow in delight
But there is no one sight
To listen to your plight
So kiss today goodbye
Let your sorrow die
When the wind passes by
Just remember to fly
Tomorrow will be greater
Your burdens will get lighter
You don’t have to wait longer
Tomorrow you will be stronger
so kiss today goodbye
Let hope lift you high
Don’t ever stop to wonder why
Just kiss today goodbye

IA-ŢI RĂMAS BUN DE LA ZIUA DE AZI

Ia-ţi rămas bun de la ziua de azi
Cerul te-a văzut plângând

2011: ANOTHER SPACE ODYSSEY / 2011: OTRA "SPACE ODYSSEY"/2011: ALTĂ ODISEE SPAŢIALĂ

PEGGY LANDSMAN (UNITED STATES)
DANIEL’S COSMIC SUITCASE

Daniel Dragomirescu first introduced himself to me in an e-mail in April 2009. Since then, I've been enjoying a lively correspondence with him about art, history, politics, life in our two countries, and life in general. We've exchanged language lessons (especially in English and Romanian), book recommendations, news stories, and lots of jokes. We've also put our two heads together to help Contemporary Literary Horizon develop and grow.
When Daniel first asked me to contribute to Contemporary Literary Horizon, it was a much slimmer, print-only magazine in English and Romanian. I suggested that going online would save him money and allow him to reach many more people worldwide. Daniel did not want to sacrifice the physical paper journal, but agreed it would be a good idea to add a web site. I blogged on the Red Room about Daniel's project and luckily one of the people who responded was able to help set up the very first Contemporary Literary Horizon blog. Another Red Room person was Caroline Gill, who has since become a steady contributor and enthusiastic supporter. I haven't had any luck finding native English speakers who know enough Romanian to do translations, but perhaps one day soon...
Daniel and I are now planning to meet each other in person. We're going to rendezvous over the Bermuda Triangle. He's going to arrive in his private plane, the Pan American. I'm going to fly in on my magic carpet. The date, however, is not yet set. Daniel may need a while because he's packing a special suitcase. In it he's going to bring the sky, the full moon, and the whole Milky Way. But that's Daniel. His suitcase is Contemporary Literary Horizon and he's packing all of us in it together. Whether we are  fledgling or more experienced writers, if we are from anywhere on planet Earth, we are all in Daniel's cosmic suitcase.
Unlike so many publications that emerge only to fall sooner or later into the Bermuda Triangle and disappear, never to be heard from again, I am sure that Contemporary Literary Horizon will continue to grow. Its horizon is as unlimited as Daniel Dragomirescu’s enthusiasm and support for the work of multicultural contemporary writers.

BRAZILIAN HORIZONS: LUCIANA LHULLIER

TO POE, WITH LOVE
Pasts thrown upon them
Two women in a falling House.
Wrinkles, smells, dust, darkness
Time leaves its marks. Merciless.

The House moans. The women hurt.
Oozing wounds on the walls.
Wasted lives and madness.
No sign of tomorrow.
In every drawer, in every cupboard, boxes of sadness
Under the carpets, fragments of sorrow.

Men have come and gone
Scared and fragile.
Inhabiting their dreams, terrorizing their sleep,
The true lord of the castle rules,
The one-eyed feline.

One day the youngest lady finds the attic.
Ages spent looking for that in this nightmarish maze.
The door opens and she sees her long lost treasure, black and perfect.
Downstairs the old one lies motionless in her bed, empty of life.
Her eyes unable to throw her invisible web of accusing gaze.

The woman in the attic peels off her own skin.
Echoing from her chest, the storytelling heart, beating faster and faster.
She pulls down her beloved, true cover
And it falls gently on its again beautiful master.

Through the open window, out she flies
Flapping her wings in mad happiness.
For a moment she looks down on the prison she´s inhabited before
And screams against the wind: I´m the Raven Lady, forever and ever will be,
and my body and soul, my whole existence, shall be locked…nevermore.”

CU  DRAGOSTE,  PENTRU  POE
Acoperite de clipe trecute,
Două femei într-o Casă ce cade.
Riduri, mirosuri, praf, întuneric
Timpul se face simţit. Nemilos.
