FRENCH HORIZONS: METAMORPHOSIS BY DOM'S CREATIONS

POETRY AND MUSIC: MIGUEL ANGEL DE BOER

Ahora me estoy angustiando,
llorando un tiempo que pasó,
quisiera yo morir,

luchando he de seguir,

deplângând o vreme ce-a trecut,
aş vrea eu să mor,
aşa nu voi simţi,
nostalgiile destrămându-ne.

Sosiră neştiutori, de ce aveau să găsească,
în poalele sufletului meu,
munciră cu patimă, fără teama de-a secătui,
sângele ce eu adăposteam.

Pentru ce am dăruit, promisiuni am primit,
ce nu s-au văzut împlinite,
de n-ai fi fost tu, ce încă eşti aici,
mi-ar fi luat viaţa.

Ştiu că tu înţelegi,
căci eu sunt raţiunea ta de-a fi,
de aceea n-am murit,
în continuare trebuie să lupt,
aşa nu mă vor doborî.

LAMENTATION FOR MY HOPE-FILLED DUST (*)

Who knows if I can, tired as I am,
find my way towards the light of love,
I don’t even know what to say, my voice is lost already,
from crying my sorrow.

I was young once, yearning to live,
melody filled my heart,
the sky was my home, the moon, my pillow,
dreaming of happiness.

Now I am troubled,
longing for a time long gone,
I wish I were dead,
thus I would not feel,
nostalgia tearing us apart.

They arrived unaware, of what they would find,
in the lap of my soul,
they worked passionately, with no fear of draining,
the blood I was sheltering.

For my devotion, I received promises,
which never saw fulfilment,
had it not been for you, who are here still,
they would have taken my life away.

I know you understand,
as I am your reason to be,
for this I have not died,
I have to keep on fighting,
this way they will not defeat me.
