this red fan raised

EL ABANICO ES ROJO

Hilado en cuerdas bermellones

este abanico se levanta

SCOTTISH HORIZONS: EILEEN CARNEY HULME

LIFE WAITS INSIDE US
Like a Sunday morning
peeling back light
to find a winter sky
drowned by dull rain
and driftwood stars
gathered at the window
you think perhaps
you should let them in
these damp stars, that once
you wished upon
on another Sunday, summer
huddled in the dunes
moulded skin to skin
to your midnight lover
no, close the curtains
stop and think
how long it takes
for stars to dry out
to cease their drip, drip, drip.

VIAŢA AŞTEAPTĂ ÎN NOI
Ca o dimineaţă de duminică
ce decojeşte lumina
pentru a descoperi un cer de iarnă
înecat de o ploaie monotonă
şi de stele naufragiate
adunate la fereastră
crezi poate
că ar trebui să le primeşti înăuntru
aceste stele umede la care
ţi-ai pus dorinţe odată
într-o altă duminică, vară
ghemuită în dune
perfect mulată
pe iubitul tău de la miezul nopţii
nu, trage perdelele
opreşte-te şi gândeşte-te
cât de mult timp le ia
stelelor să se usuce
să-nceteze de-a mai curge pic, pic, pic.

LA VIDA ESPERA EN NOSOTROS
Como una  mañana de domingo
que abre la luz
para descubrir un cielo de invierno
ahogado por una lluvia monótona
y por las estrellas náufragos
reunidos en la ventana
tu piensas quizas
que tendria recibirlos
estas estrellas mojadas en que
tu has enterraste un deseo
en un otro domingo, verano
acurrucada en las dunas
perfectamente moldeado
tu amor a la medianoche
no, cierre las cortinas
para y piensa
cuánto tiempo necesitan
las estrellas para secar
parar a fluir, poco a poco...

     CULTURAL PROFILE

     Eileen Carney Hulme was born in Edinburgh and now lives in the far North of Scotland drawing inspiration for her writing from the big skies and deserted beaches. She has had two collections of poetry published, “Stroking The Air” (Bluechrome, 2005) and “The Space Between Rain” (Indigo Dreams Publishing, 2012). Her poetry is the landscape of the heart and mixes spiritual and physical closeness with powerful images. She has won several poetry prizes and been placed or highly commended in numerous competitions. Eileen was named as one of the top ten best poets in the Purple Patch Best Poets Category as part of their Small Press awards in 2004, 2010 and 2011. Both collections of poetry were also awarded places in the Best Collections category in 2005 and 2010.

IN MEMORIA DI MIO PADRE
Le fredde frasche calpesti
se vieni a trovarmi
avvolto in una luce
di Limbo
Mi parli di
un’affrica di sabbie
e notti allerti
e appena ti capisco.
Insieme piangiamo
i lunghi anni trascorsi
senza una parola.

IN MEMORY OF MY FATHER
Cold and heavy branches
if you come to find
wrapped in a light
of Limbo.
You speak about
an affrica of sands
and alert nights
and I understand you quickly.
We cry together
and many years have gone
whithout a word.

ÎN MEMORIA TATĂLUI MEU
Ramuri grele şi reci
dacă vii să găseşti
învăluit înrtr-o lumină
de Limb.
Îmi vorbeşti de
o africă de nisipuri
şi de nopţi alerte
şi îndată te-nţeleg.
Amândoi plângeam
şi lungi ani au trecut
fără un cuvânt.

     Claudio Sottocornola (Bergamo, 17 gennaio 1959) è un poeta, giornalista, artista, cantante e interprete italiano.

EMBRUJO

Para que no olvides que te espero…

Besare tu recuerdo al acostarme

Porque es más fácil congelar el infierno

Que enseñarle a mis huesos a olvidarte.

Para que ni por segundos

Pierda mi sabor  tu boca

Pondré tu foto en mis zapatos

Y pisare tus ganas de olvidarme

¿Es que no entiendes que nacimos para amarnos?

Como los labios de una misma boca

Condenados a besarnos siempre.

Para que no me olvides…

Prenderé velas a Santo que recuerde

A esos de mi abuela negra

Y a las vírgenes de mi abuela blanca.

Y si no puedo retenerte con mi alma

La vendo a quien me ofrezca tus brazos

Porque este amor dejo ya de ser beato

De tanto que me mata y me levanta

Parece más un pacto, que una alianza.

VRAJĂ

Ca să nu uiţi că te aştept...

Voi săruta amintirea-ţi seara la culcare

Pentru că e mai uşor să îngheţi infernul

Decât să-mi înveţi oasele să te uite.

Pentru ca nici măcar o clipă

Să nu-ţi dispară savoarea mea din gură 

Voi pune poza ta în pantofi

Şi voi păşi peste dorinţa ta de-a mă uita

Nu înţelegi că suntem născuţi pentru iubire?

Precum buzele aceleiaşi guri

Condamnate la un etern sărut.

Ca să nu mă uiţi...

Voi aprinde lumânări la Santo, ca să amintească

De cei din partea bunicii mele negre

Şi de fecioarele din partea bunicii mele albe.

Şi dacă nu pot să te păstrez cu sufletul

Am să-l vând celui care-mi oferă braţele tale

Pentru că această dragoste mă face să fiu binecuvântată

De tot ce mă ucide şi mă înalţă -

Pare să fie mai mult un pact decât o alianţă.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

     Marielys Duluc Reyna (born 1987) is a poet, artist and periodist from Dominican Republic. Recently she has published the book "De la mano del tiempo" (Santuario Editions, Santo Domingo). 

     Her work is characterized by a neo-romantic sensibility and a good command of the means of poetic expression.

     Since 2012 she is a honorary contributor of our journal.

     Marielys Duluc Reyna (n. 1987) este o poetă, artistă şi publicistă din Republica Dominicană. Recent a publicat cartea “De la mano del tiempo” (Santuario Editions, Santo Domingo).  

     Creaţia sa se remarcă prin sensibilitate neoromantică şi printr-o bună stăpânire a mijloacelor de expresie poetică. 

     Din 2012 este colaborator onorific al revistei noastre.
